News

Alright, so if you hadn't noticed, I've updated. I'm still not particularly happy with the outcome, but I'll keep working on it. So far, the only new bit is the front page and the style sheet. Do me a favor, and don't look at any of the linked pages from the menu on the right (now on the left --ed.) yet... They're bound to the new style sheet, but are still formatted in the old crappy XHTML. Just give me a couple of weeks to fix those too. I'd do it this weekend, but I'm going to Vermont, so no time there.
Otherwise, I've been pretty darn busy at work. Actually, I'm pretty stressed out and in a crappy mood, but I'll get over it. I can't think of any other news, so I'll just go back to what I was doing, which was... um... yeah...

So I haven't posted since when?

Dec. 23, apparently. Well, I can explain. I'm actually looking at a major overhaul of my site, to include web-logging possibility. In fact, it's all functional, and I've ported all of my previous posts. Take a look. Anyway, that's all fine and good, except I don't like the look of my site, so I'm revamping that as well before really taking to posting a lot. I have a new look ready to go, but there are some issues with Internet Explorer. Really, when AREN'T there issues with Internet Explorer (damn you, Bill Gates!)? I guess I can't blame them: I can't believe anybody in the web browser market finds time to make their software standards-compliant.
Anyway, there's really not much going on anyway. I spent a not-so-quiet New Year's Eve at home. I was alone, but the restaurant downstairs had an annoying DJ until 2:00 a.m., hence not-so-quiet.
I just got done watching Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. Twice. In a row. It's a great movie (duh). I'm that guy. There are a few people that make up that girl, but I'm definitely that guy. Which reminds me of a dream I had last night about a certain ex. I don't think her husband would be too happy about that one.
Oh, and I saw House of Flying Daggers this weekend. Incredible movie. GO SEE THIS MOVIE, even if you have to drive an hour and pay for parking like I did. Of course, if you're reading this, you're probably in Atlanta, which means it's playing at at least 3 theaters, including the Magic Johnson one (that's the only one that stuck out in my mind). This is basically Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, but with better plot and cinematography. I know. Go see it.
Alright, that's it for now. I didn't intend to write this much. Looks like I've got to port another posting. Damn.

Reconsideration

Alright, so I've changed my mind. After spending the past couple of days getting a quick working knowledge of XML & XSLT, I found this program called ListGarden 1.02. Amazingly enough, it allows me to have an RSS feed right on my old home page. My only complaint so far is that it doesn't have support for SFTP, so I'm forced to publish everything locally and SFTP it myself. Not a big deal, but it would be sweet if I didn't have to do that.
So, I suppose I'll be migrating over from my Tabulas site back to polter. Oh, I'll still keep Tabulas for things like recipe postings and commenting on Matt's ramblings.
Which brings me to really the only thing I don't have set up here is the ability to allow comments. I may get around to setting something automated up. Until then, just email me, and I'll add it in.
Anyway, if you've been paying attention to this site (HA!), you'll notice a few extra posts show up. I'll migrate those over from the Tabulas site and keep the same date-stamp on them, so who knows what order everything will end up in?

Props, my brother

Spongebob So my brother has started posting his own Dennis Miller-esque rants on a different web journal site. I have to say that for as much sarcastic wit as I like to think I possess, he's got me beat by a mile. Maybe it has to do with the fact that he's cursed. No, really. He's super intelligent, but has a learning disability; he plays guitar better than anyone I personally know, but has some strange here-to-fore-unseen disease that represents itself as demonic arthritis; and he gets a cush job sitting on his crack all day, only to slip on ice 2 weeks into it and suffer some kind of weird brain damage. And Dave, if you're reading this, I'm sure you appreciate me airing all of your dirty laundry. Just think of it as sympathy points, man. All you have to do is pay me to post a picture, and tons of chicks will line up just wanting to make your day a little better.
Anyway, he's a funny kid, so bookmark his page. Or, do what I do:
Step 1: Download Mozilla Thunderbird (more on this later)
Step 2: Set up the .RSS feed directly into your email/newsreader
Step 3: Have news webpages and weblog sites (except for this one until it's fixed) come to you.
Now I just need to find a god to anger.

UNCLE!

Alright: I give up. This is pretty much a pain in the ass to update until I learn XML/PHP/WTF. Until such time as I accomplish that feat, please direct your inquiries to http://www.tabulas.com/~Bobzilla. They just make it so EASY to update and add crap.
